## How to Register and Activate Your Matrack ELD

### Initial Registration

2. Complete the registration form with the required&#x20;
3. Submit the form to create your account
4. Check your email for:

### First-Time Login Process

#### Accessing Admin Portal

### Installation Steps

#### 1. Locate Diagnostic Port

The 9-pin cable connects to the diagnostic port, commonly found in one of these locations:

* Under the dashboard
* Underneath the steering wheel
* Below the driver's seat
* Near the driver's left kick panel

#### 2. Connect Hardware

* Attach the 9-pin CONNECTOR to the diagnostic port
* Connect the ELD device to the other end of the cable
* Power on the ELD device
* Turn on the vehicle ignition

#### 3. Software Setup

* Ensure the ELD driver app is installed on your device
* Log in to your account

   * Select "Not Applicable" or any required break type..

2. The light below the battery icon will turn solid RED during charging.
3. When fully charged, the RED LED light will turn off, and no lights will blink on the face of the device.
4. Average charging time for a fully depleted battery is 6-8 hours.
5. Based on 1 minute motion updates and an average drive time of 1 hr per day, a full charge will last 12-14 days.
6. When the battery is below 10% (low battery) the RED LED will blink rapidly.

Note: Do not charge device in a sealed container with limited convection. This will heat up the device.

#### Install the MaTrack iOS/Android App

1. Download and install our App from the Google Play or Apple App Store. Search for MaTrackGPS 2.0 on iOS and Matrack GPSTracking on Android.
2. Use the account login credentials provided during activation to access your tracking platform.

#### How to Activate the GPS Tracker

IMPORTANT: Have the 15 digit IMEI # (located on back of GPS tracker) handy during the activation process.

1. Scan the QR code OR Visit: <https://matrackinc.com/gpsactivation/>
2. Follow the steps on the activation page in order to get your GPS tracker registered.
3. Once you've submitted the activation form, check your email for your account information.
4. To access your account, login using the USERNAME and PASSWORD provided in the activation email.

#### Acquiring GPS Lock

IMPORTANT: Your GPS tracker has to be activated through the Matrack website before acquiring GPS LOCK.

* After the account is created, restart your GPS tracker by pushing the POWER BUTTON.
* When the POWER BUTTON is pushed down for a few seconds, you should see the lights blink in the following order: <mark style="color:red;">**RED**</mark>**,&#x20;**<mark style="color:blue;">**BLUE,**</mark>**&#x20;**<mark style="color:green;">**GREEN**</mark>.
* When connecting to GPS satellite, the lights below the icons will flash in a systematic pattern.
* When GPS LOCK has been acquired, all lights will be off on the face of the device.
* If Cell / GPS is not identified or registered, the respective LED lights will blink every second.
* When both Cell/ GPS locks have been registered, there will be no lights on the face of the device.
* The device will show at its current location on your platform if a GPS lock has been acquired.
* If a GPS lock is not acquired by this time, relocate the GPS tracker near a window or place on the dash of a vehicle and take it for a short drive.
* RESET Button – Also known as the S.O.S. button. Hold down for 3 seconds. This will wake up the device and once GPS LOCK is acquired, it will update current location.
* When POWERING OFF the device, you should see the lights turn off in the following order - <mark style="color:green;">**GREEN**</mark>**,&#x20;**<mark style="color:blue;">**BLUE**</mark>**,&#x20;**<mark style="color:red;">**RED**</mark>**.**

#### Attach GPS Tracker to Vehicle/Asset

* After GPS LOCK has been acquired AND you have confirmed that your device is updating on your platform, place the device inside your vehicle/asset. If you have a magnetic case (sold separately), first place the GPS tracker inside the case.
* If placed inside a vehicle, make sure the GPS tracker is not fully surrounded by metal.
* If placing it in a backpack or purse, place it in an outside pocket, away from any metals.

#### Step 1: Identify LED Indicators

* Locate the rectangular glass window on the shorter surface of the device

1. Find the "Test" button next to the LED lights
2. Hold down the button until both LED lights flash Green and Blue

#### Installation Guidelines

1. **Orientation**

### Starter Interrupter Installation

The starter interrupter feature allows remote enabling/disabling of the vehicle starter via SMS commands.

#### Relay Installation Steps

1. Short the Black wire (86) with the Blue wire (30)
2. Cut the vehicle's starter wire
3. Connect the 12V supply end to the Blue-Black junction
4. Connect the starter motor side to the Red wire (87a)
5. Connect the tracker's Green wire (OUT1) to the White wire (85)

#### Tracker Power Connection

* Connect the red wire to a 12V constant DC source
* Connect the black wire to the ground or DC source ground terminal

**Important Notes:**

* If relay terminals have different color codes or diode polarity than shown, contact support
* Do not install the tracker under the hood

### STEP 1: Locate the OBD port on your vehicle

The OBD port can be located underneath the dashboard on the driver's side. All vehicles made since 1996 have this port. The OBD socket looks like a rectangular port with multiple pins.

### STEP 2: Connect the GPS Tracker to your vehicle's OBD port

There are status indicators on the device (opposite the OBD socket).

### Simple OBD Port Plug & Play Installation

#### Step 1

A. Select a proper installation position and wipe the position clean.

1. Connect the GPS Antenna cable by plugging it into the small port with 4 pins.

#### Step 3

Route the OBD power, GPS Antenna cable & optional SOS button cables along the A pillar of the vehicle to the upper center of the windshield as shown in the figure. (refer D, blue dashed line)
